Summer Assignments
***All Summer assignments will be due at the end of the fisrt full week of classes (September 11 or 12 depending on which days your class meets). NO EXCEPTIONS will be made.***

Portuguese 3
Students who are enrolled in Portuguese Honors 3 for next year are responsible for keeping a summer journal
in Portuguese.  Students should write their journal entries in a notebook.  Students need to complete at least 25 journal entries, consisting of no less than 8-10 sentences per entry. Journals will be collected and graded the first week of school in September and the grade will count as part of your Term I grade.  I expect your journals to reflect the correct usage of the present, present progressive, simple future and irregular verbs in your writing that we have worked on this year.  You should also incorporate vocabulary that you have learned in your first two years of Portuguese. In each journal entry you should use ONE new word in the context of your entry. Underline this word. At the bottom of the page you should write the word and its definition.

A few journal topics and ideas:
  * What is something you dislike about yourself?
  * What is something you do well?
  * What is your favourite room in your home and why?
  * What is your favourite time of day?
  * What is your idea of a boring evening?
   * What is something you are optimistic about?
  * What is something you are pessimistic about?
  * What is your most indispensable possession and why?
  * What is your favourite song and why?
  * What is the best birthday present you ever received?
  * What is something that makes you feel sad?
  * What is your favourite book and why?
  * What is something that really bugs you?
  * What is something that really makes you angry?
  * What is your favourite holiday? What makes this holiday special?
  * What is your favourite day of the week?
  * What is your favourite month? Why?
   * What is your favourite movie? Why?
